Long Platform

My platform will focus on tackling environmental sustainability, social equity and the mental health of students by emphasizing accessibility, communication and collaboration in all initiatives/events.

In addition to the basic responsibilities of this position, some of my additional goals include:
- Encouraging broader collaboration between charity student groups with similar goals. Currently, McGill has many charity groups that act individually despite having similar objectives. I believe that cooperation between such groups to create events of a larger scope will result in a greater impact in the community.
- Advocate for the implementation of environmentally friendly products and processes throughout the institution Such as: using recycled paper for teaching/testing materials or converting to renewable energy sources.
- Listen and act upon feedback from student charity clubs on how they would be supported by or collaborate with the SUS to further their cause.
- Create a centralized media platform dedicated to publicizing social events in hopes of reaching a wider range of students and encourage greater participation. This will ensure that students who are engaged in the topic of social issues to stay informed on all the events happening around the campus
- Implement an accessible online feedback form for students to voice any concerns or suggest initiatives they would like to see enacted
- Introduce more mental health initiatives directed at science students such as: 24/7 online chat platform/hotline wherein student privacy and safety is prioritized; student-to-student office hours - the stress of those in science may be different from other faculties therefore, this will allow science students an opportunity to connect with someone who is more understanding of their circumstance.

And… that’s it. Hopefully you were able to see my passion and dedication to chek my name on the ballot :)
